Sisu is a Finnish term for an indomitable, stoic determination, grit, and resilience in the face of extreme adversity, often translated as “guts”. It signifies persevering when all hope seems lost, pushing beyond one’s limitations, and continuing after others would have given up. It defines the Finnish national character.
A man of few words. A warrior legend known as “The Immortal,” a killing machine who killed over 300 Russians for revenge over the brutal death of his family. Don’t mess with this one-man army or his dog.
Sisu is a very satisfying dish of revenge. In the first film, Nazi’s in retreat from Finland at the end of World War II are bent on destroying everything in their wake, including the lone miner and his bag of gold. But they picked the wrong man to mess with!
In the sequel, The Immoral enters Russian-occupied Finland to reclaim his family home, only to run into an old enemy.
Both movies are filled with outrageous non-stop action and gore-soaked humor. Who doesn’t like to cheer on the hero as he dispatches evil Nazi’s and sadistic Russians with aplomb?
There is plenty of blood, killing, glore and Rambo-style wound first aid so be aware but there is also so much over-the-top action and innovative ways of dispatching bad guys that it verges on comedy.

The first “SISU” movie came out in 2022 with the follow up movie “SISU Road to Revenge” in 2025.
