Let’s Go to Bath, Maine!

Bath, Maine is known for its long time history of shipping then and now as well as the natural beauty of this rugged coastline. As a major bonus not always found in Maine, the region hosts several sandy beaches including Pomham Beach State Park ($8 per person for the day).

Bordering the south side of the mouth of the Kennebec River, Popham Beach State Park is truly one of Maine’s rare geologic landforms. Sunbathers relaxing on Popham’s sands can see Fox and Wood islands offshore, and the Kennebec and Morse rivers border each end of the beach.

Imagine the powerful storm that brought this huge tree trunk far up on the rocky cliff!
Beautiful wildflowers in the dunes. Please stay on the trails and don’t trample these delicate plants that take decades to establish themselves.
Downtown Bath, Maine is full of charming old buildings hosting galleries, giftshops and restaurants including tasty wood-fired pizza, seafood and bar-b-que.
How about a pint of local craft beer? Bath, Maine has that two!
