Is the Canon EOS RP good for food blogging?

Indeed! The new Canon EOS RP full-frame mirror-less camera ($1,299) makes a great camera for food bloggers, especially when paired with the RF 35mm macro lens ($450 or less) Here’s why:

  • Full-frame sensor – The full-frame sensor allows low light photography. Dimly lit restaurants or markets can be photographed with less noise.
  • Lightweight – the small and lightweight form factor makes it easier to travel with the Canon EOS RP than a larger DSLR
  • Focus Bracketing – Focus stacking, or depth compositing is available. The camera can be set to take a series of photos (up to 999 shots) at different focal lengths. The images can be combined later using the free Canon software to create a final photograph with back to front focus. Great for macro or closeup shots like food. You will need to use a tripod for best results.
  • The new Canon RF 35mm macro lens. This lens is the perfect match to the Canon EOS RP for food bloggers.
  • Wifi Connectivity – Connect your computer or smartphone directly to the camera to transfer photos. Great feature for getting shots on to your blog fast. You can also control the camera from your phone which is a good way to keep flour dust off the camera, just tap the phone to take the shot!
