How To Brighten Up That Dingy Garage

Space in our homes is at a premium these days with more people working from home, kids home from school and we need room for our hobbies.

Last summer I renovated a vintage pinball machine in my garage. Before I started I cleaned out a bunch of junk, put in insulation, extra electrical outlets and drywall. Most importantly I upgraded the dingy lighting with new LED strip lights.

10 Pack 4FT LED Shop Light, 40W, 5200LM, 6500K Super Bright White, V Shape Integrated T8 LED Tube Light, 4 Foot Linkable Shop Lights With Built-in ON/Off Switch for Garage, Basement, Workshop

I ended purchasing two of these sets of 10 four foot led lighting strips, using them in the garage as well as in the utility/laundry room and a pantry closet.

They are easy to install, don’t use a lot of energy, come with a bunch of connection options including hard-wiring, plug in connections and extension cables. They are lightweight and only need a couple of clips to hang them from the ceiling.

  • Super Bright – V-shape designed T8 shop light provide a wide 270-degree beam angle, double row LED chips also ensure enough light to illuminate every dark corner of your space.
  • Linkable – 4ft linkable LED shop lights uses seamless connectors to connect up to 8 pcs together in your garage, cupboard, workshop, warehouse, basement and storage room.
  • Up to 75% Energy Saving – Hykolity’s 4ft LED shop lights feature 5200 lumens brightness by using only 40W, equivalent to 3 pcs 32W 4ft fluorescent tube, provides a 75% reduction in energy usage.
  • Easy Installation – Plug & Play. Come with 59″ power cord with on/off switch, and other small accessories, no external or internal wiring needed.
  • “5 YEARS WARRANTY-We offer 5 years warranty for the 4ft led garage shop light against any defect in materials and workmanship, covers most damage and shipping costs for replacements. Contact us for any quality issues. “

After installing the lights, working on my vintage pinball machine project was like working on the bridge of the Enterprise or in a surgical suite.

Brighten up that garage!
