Our Ford Mustang Mach-E came with a free level 2 home charger and free (basic, anything unusual can be subjected to additional charges) installation.
Installation was via Qmerit and a crew from Masseuchuetts came up to install it — after a few rounds with the town permit review board who only meet twice a month.
Getting the Ford Pass App to sync up with the Ford Connected Charger took some doing.
First you have to install an additional app for the Ford Connected Charger, sync up with it via Bluetooth and then add it to your network. It failed to connect on the first attempts.
Searching online it seems that many people have trouble connecting the first time. Knowing that, my expectations were low that it would work right out of the gate.
It wasn’t until I went through the “manual” method of adding in the charger number and passcode that I could get it to work with the Ford Pass App.
Once its working the charger can keep track of your charging history, cost of charging and you can also lower the AC charging rate if you are tripping the breaker. The maximum is set at 48A.
