Traveling these days is stressful enough without having some entertainment along for the ride. Too many times in the past couple of years my phone or Chromebook has failed to connect with the inflight entertainment offerings.
Either the app hadn’t downloaded due to inactivity and iPhone’s attempt to save storage space due to Apple’s stupid inability to add a simple microSD card for user-added storage – thanks form over function Steve Jobs (RIP). Or for some reason the airlines system only seems to work with tablets or something.
So I bought myself one of these inexpensive Amazon Fire Tablets. Next trip I’ll download a bunch of stuff from Amazon Prime in case I can’t connect. Forget about trying to do everything in one device – the phone as the Swiss Army knife of the digital age – nope I’ll be like one of those brats at a nice restaurant, playing games and watching movies on my Fire.
