Dirty Martini

If I’m going to have a martini, it might as well be dirty.  Extra olives and a splash of salty brine from the jar.  I mean a little flavor you know?

A dry martini is made with dry, white vermouth. By the Roaring Twenties it became common to ask for them. Over the course of the century the amount of vermouth steadily dropped. During the 1930s the ratio was 3:1 and during the 1940s the ratio was 4:1. During the latter part of the 20th century, 6:1, 8:1, 12:1, or even 50:1 or 100:1 martinis became considered the norm.

A dirty martini contains a splash of olive brine or olive juice and is typically garnished with an olive.

A perfect martini uses equal amounts of sweet and dry vermouth.

I’m rather unlikely to “pound” shots these days but if I were, I’d choose tequila.  It has the best flavor for shots plus the rituals of liking the salt off of your hand and having the lime wedge after.  I bit more of a show then say vodka which has not flavor.

Now on to the BINGE.  I prefer “Game of Thrones”, “Sons of Anarchy” or “The Wire”.  Or maybe even some classics like “Lost”, “Twin Peaks” or “Fringe” and have been know to binge on the Godfather Trilogy, Aliens or Star Wars.
